What is an Intensive Outpatient Program?

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a therapeutic substance abuse program that treats addiction in an outpatient setting.

The IOP is a method of group therapy that involves recovery education, assisting persons served to achieve abstinence in addition to alleviating barriers.

Participants of IOP attend weekly recovery group sessions 3 hours a day three times a week.
Group members commit to a 90-day program, where they receive support, recovery education, and assistance through our licensed counselors utilizing evidence-based interventions.

The primary goal of IOP is to empower and equip participants through psychoeducation and skill development.

IOP participants can modify behaviors and achieve abstinence from mood-altering substances, in addition to improving the quality of their life.

Our licensed IOP counselors provide one on one individual counseling in conjunction with group therapy.
The substance abuse program is designed to increase knowledge of the disease/addiction model and to develop appropriate skills to manage sobriety and prevent relapse.

IOP classes are offered during the day and evening to accommodate participants. Intensive outpatient groups have the flexibility to be offered via telehealth, allowing clients the option of receiving care from their location.

What to Expect From an IOP Session?

Each Intensive Outpatient Program session consists of an educational lecture followed by a group therapy session.

IOP counselors will provide interactive handouts and video presentations to increase clients’ knowledge of addiction and the effects of addiction in all facets of life.

The Intensive Outpatient Program offers a 12-week curriculum. Our licensed IOP counselors are cognizant that there are multiple pathways to recovery and will work with clients to identify what best meets their needs.
Clients can expect to engage in interactive discussions and participate in vicarious learning via group processing of recovery education.
IOP participants can expect to be supported by staff and encouraged to identify solutions to identified problems.

The Intensive Outpatient Program offers a group dynamic in which participants feel respected, valued and their voice is recognized.
The IOP philosophy is to meet the needs of each client while taking into consideration, age, previous treatment, and the motivation for change.

How to Schedule Intake and Assessment Appointments

Your first step is to call us to schedule your initial appointment MON-FRI 9:00 am-5:00 pm.

Most clients receive same-day assessments.

At the time you call to schedule your intake appointment, you will need to have insurance information available as well as complete admission and screening documents. Clients will be given a link (email) to privately complete the requested paperwork. Our staff is prepared to help you navigate this process.

If you are unable to complete admission documents virtually you do have the option to come in person. Once you complete the forms, you will be assigned a therapist to complete your assessment and determine the best level of care.

The assessment session provides an opportunity for you to build rapport with the therapist and provide them with some background information about yourself and the reasons you are seeking services. In addition, the counselor will be able to answer your questions regarding assessment recommendations, services, confidentiality, and what to expect in therapy.
